PURPOSE: Approve and authorize the County Executive to sign a professional services agreement with Intermountain Claims, Inc to serve as the third-party administrator for County workers’ compensation claims.
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County is self-insured for workers’ compensation. WAC 296-15-021-6(d) requires self-insurers to obtain the services of an individual or service organization with qualifications to administer a workers’ compensation program. In January of 2026, the county issued an RFP for workers’ compensation claims management. Intermountain Claims, Inc was selected by the evaluation committee as submitting the highest ranked proposal. Expedited handling is requested due to the extensive time needed for claims data transfer to this new vendor.
