PURPOSE: For the County Council to approve the County’s participation with the Town of Darrington in a Broadband Outreach Project to inform individuals and business owners about the opportunity to obtain connections prior to the completion of construction in the vicinity of SR 530 and Verlot, and authorizes the Executive to sign the interlocal agreement with the Town of Darrington as attached hereto.
BACKGROUND: The County has received ARPA funding and state grant funding to expand broadband access along SR 530 and in Verlot. The County Council approved a spending plan in 2023 and agreements for the broadband expansion. This interlocal agreement will enable the Town of Darrington to conduct outreach to ensure residents and businesses obtain connections prior to the completion of construction.
