body

DEPARTMENT:  Facilities and Fleet

ORIGINATOR:  Carl Jorgensen

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Ken Klein 9/18/24

PURPOSE: To donate property to the City of Marysville now annexed into their city limits called Gissberg Twin Lakes Park

BACKGROUND: Snohomish County acquired the property in question in 1973 for Gissberg Twin Lakes Park. In 2002 the City of Marysville annexed the property that contains the park. Since annexation the County and the City have had many conversations about the City taking over ownership of the park due to the ongoing maintenance and upkeep the County has experienced since acquiring. The City is now  ready to receive the property from the County as a donation, picking up the maintenance and ownership responsibilities of the same.
