PURPOSE: Appoint members to serve on the Pro/Con Committees for the Charter amendments proposed by the Charter Review Commission
BACKGROUND: The 2026 Charter Review Commission is proposing five charter amendments and submitted those five amendments to the County Council on May 29, 2026. The County Council authorized the Clerk of the Council to transmit those proposed amendments to the County Auditor for placement on the November ballot. Pursuant to RCW 29A.32.280, each measure appoints a maximum of three applicants to a Pro and Con Committee to draft statements for the local voters’ pamphlet. The Council established an application process and publicized the request for applications through a press release, on our web page and through our social media.
