ITEM TITLE:
Title
Motion 24-058, authorizing the County Executive to Sign Change Order Number CO-05s to Bid PW-23-007sb with Western Ventures Construction for the West Precinct Sheriff, Tenant Improvements
body
DEPARTMENT: Facilities and Fleet

ORIGINATOR: Anna Morton

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Ken Klein 1/26/24

PURPOSE: Council Approval on PW-23-007SB Change Order 05S

BACKGROUND: The West Precinct Sheriff and Paine Field, has a single contract, two funding sources, and three areas of work. The competitive bid and initial contract award for PW-23-007SB covered two areas of the work. The interior improvements for the Sheriff and the Airport. The contract also identified the split of the contract amounts for those work areas to the separate funding sources. These Change Orders cover the third, shared area of the work on the site outside of the building. CO-05A is the portion of the work to be funded by the Airport. CO-05S is the portion of the work to be funded by the Sheriff. The Contractor has included an itemized summary of the pricing based on bids from multiple sub-contractors for each portion of the work. The general contractor for the interior improvements will be managing the site work. This will minimize conflict that occur with multiple general contractors are charged with working on a single site and will allow the site improvement to be completed at the same time as the interior improvements.
