PURPOSE: Snohomish County Council to review and approve grant funds for the 7 applications from two nonprofits, two cities and Snohomish County that applied for the Conservation Futures Tax Funds which were recommended by the Conservation Futures Board Advisory to be funded.

BACKGROUND: Snohomish County Code Chapter 4.14 establishes the Snohomish County Conservation Futures Property Tax Fund and the Conservation Futures Program Advisory Board ("Advisory Board"), whose duties include the review and recommendation of projects to be funded with Conservation Futures Property Tax Funds; and Snohomish County advertised the opportunity for project sponsors to submit applications for Conservation Futures Property Tax Funds and received 7applications from two non-profits, two cities, and Snohomish County by the application due date of August 16. 2024 On September 4, 2024, the Advisory Board listened to project presentations, reviewed the project proposals and voted to recommend fully funding all 7 projects for a total amount of $7,295,976.00 (Seven Million, Two Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand, Nine Hundred Seventy-Six Dollars) through the Conservation Futures Property Tax Fund; and the recommendations by the Advisory Board are forwarded through the Snohomish County Executive to the Snohomish County Council for review and consideration.
