PURPOSE: To confirm the reappointment of Joseph Alonzo to the Housing Authority of Snohomish County Board of Commissioners.
BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners is a citizen governing body which provides guidance to the Housing Authority of Snohomish County. Joseph Alonzo has expressed an interest in utilizing his experience in youth and young adult homelessness and affordable housing to create housing opportunities for the most vulnerable individuals in the community.
• Mr. Alonzo resides in Council District 2 and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Cocoon House. Mr. Alonzo has more than 20 years of experience seving youth and young adults facing homelessness and serving those experiencing chronic mental illness.
• Mr. Alonzo’s reappointment is supported by the other members of the Board as well as the County Executive.
• Once confirmed, Mr. Alonzo will serve his second five-year term expiring March 19, 2024.
• Mr. Alonzo does not serve on any other Snohomish County Board or Commission
