PURPOSE: To recommend the appointment of Pujitha Siddani to the Snohomish County Children’s Commission.
BACKGROUND: The Children’s Commission was created to advise the County on “issues of health, safety and social services for infants, young children and youth in the community.” It is composed of 25 members, including at least two youth commissioners. Three members are appointed from each council district, while the remaining ten at-large appointees may reside anywhere within the county. Commissioners serve four-year terms with the exception of youth commissioners, who serve one-year terms. Commissioners may not serve more than three consecutive terms. The Snohomish County Children’s Commission currently has 15 members and 10 vacancies.
• Ms. Siddani resides in Council District 5
• Ms. Siddani is currently a pediatric dentist
• Ms. Siddani would like to contribute their clinical and public health perspective to support the Children’s Commission policy recommendation work.
• Ms. Siddani is not a member of any other County committee or council
• Ms. Siddanii is recommended for a first four-year term upon appointment
