PURPOSE: Approval of Amendment 1 for the maintenance, repair, inspections and upgrades of the Sheriff’s Office helicopters
BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has operated helicopters as part of its search and rescue and law enforcement responsibilities for many years. The county is acquiring a McDonnell Douglas 500E Helicopter that will require routine maintenance, repair and upgrades. Cascade Helicopter is the only local company that services this model of aircraft. Funds were allocated in 2022 from the sale of the Cathcart property to purchase a replacement helicopter and to provide for the maintenance, repair and upgrades to the Search and Rescue helicopters.
