ITEM TITLE:

Title

Amended Motion 25-191, approving 1st Amendment to 2024 Contract for Legal Services

body

DEPARTMENT:  Prosecuting Attorney

ORIGINATOR:  Ellen Hagey

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Ken Klein 4/25

PURPOSE: To obtain the Executive’s signature on the 1st amendment to a Legal Services contract with Shannon Ragonesi at Keating, Bucklin and McCormack involving the Whybark matter.

BACKGROUND: The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office executed the initial Contract for Legal Services on May 28, 2024, with a not-to-exceed amount of $50,000.  The preparation for litigation is on-going and is expected to continue for the foreseeable future; therefore, the PAO requests the Council to authorize the Executive to sign the 1st Amendment to the contract which increases the not-to-exceed amount to $150,000.
