PURPOSE: Authorizing the County Executive to Sign Amendment No. 1 to the Human Services Addendum to the 2023 Master Collective Bargaining Agreement between Snohomish County and the Washington State Council of County and City Employees, AFSCME, AFL-CIO
BACKGROUND: Amendment No. 1 to this agreement will increase the stipend for qualified employees who volunteer to take and cover an additional 8 hour shift staffing the Involuntary Treatment Unit on their days off from the current $400 and increase it to $600. The old rate has not been modified in over ten years and no longer provides sufficient incentive to get enough volunteers. The amendment will increase the number of volunteers which will be help as these staff members are responsible for staffing an Involuntary Treatment Unit 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
