BACKGROUND: A competitive bid was issued for rehabilitation of Paine Field Airport’s Runway 16R-34L North. Contemplated work includes, but is not limited to existing pavement milling, asphalt pavement placement, airfield lighting adjustments, drainage improvements, earthwork, airfield electrical improvements, pavement marking, pavement grooving, and traffic control, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract documents. Two (2) bid submittals were received, the lowest responsible bidder being Scarsella Bros for an award amount of $18,504,645.75 plus applicable Washington State Sales Tax.
