PURPOSE: To complete a FEMA acquisition of property deemed to be unsafe that could adversely affect the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River
BACKGROUND: On July 16, 2018 Jacob Oberon Lundy was given notice from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that his property was designated for a Pre-Disaster Flood Mitigation Assistance and/or Hazard Mitigation Grant Funds to relocate or purchase his property. Surface Water Management of Snohomish County (SWM) has received a grant from FEMA - Grant No. D25-049 - to acquire the property and demolish the structures, thereby preventing negative impacts and contamination of the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River. SWM has allocated the funding to purchase the property and is ready to close at the earliest convenience allowing the demolition of the property to begin. All parties and departments involved with this transaction have been conferred with and agree with this transaction as described herein.
