PURPOSE: to approve a budget transfer of $10,000 in Fund 130 to fund the beginning of the County's new AOT Program
BACKGROUND: BACKGROUND: The Prosecuting Attorney's Office (PAO), in partnership with the North Sound Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization (BH-ASO), Snohomish County Superior Court, and others, seeks to expand the delivery of directed services to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises with the creation of an Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Court. AOT delivers community-based mental health services under court order to individuals with a behavioral health disorder who are unlikely to survive safely in the community without supervision and the person's condition is substantially deteriorating. The North Sound BH-ASO will provide a grant of $10,000 for the remainder of the 2024 calendar year, and a total grant of $35,000 over the 2024-2025 fiscal year (October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025), to support the PAO's ITA Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for their time and effort handling AOT Court cases. A budget transfer from non-departmental Fund 130 would provide sufficient budget authority.
