PURPOSE: Approve Emergency Appropriation in the Sheriff Search and Rescue Helicopter Fund 141

 

BACKGROUND: In 2024, the Sheriff’s Office obtained a quote from Goodrich Hoist to replace the helicopter hoist for $225,000, excluding tax. Based on the quote, the Sheriff’s Office requested and received $225,000 in grant funding through UASI. In 2025, Goodrich Hoist was acquired by Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch, Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch will not honor the prior quote. Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch has issued a new quote for $329,044, excluding sales tax. Additional appropriation is needed to complete the purchase of the helicopter hoist replacement.
