PURPOSE: To provide mandated legal defense services for children age 12 or over who are involved in a dependency action and Superior court miscellaneous hourly proceedings.
BACKGROUND: The case types covered under this contract include as noted on the contract, Child Dependency cases and Miscellaneous Superior court case types that are a conflict of interest to the Snohomish County Public Defender Association (PDA). $250,000 is the NTE amount for 2024 as the case type, duration, and other factors affecting caseloads are unknown at this time. These factors emerge throughout the year and OPD will manage contracts with these attorneys as needed.
