EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Lacey Harper 10/8/24
PURPOSE: Council approval of a budget transfer in the amount of $325,000 within Human Services Fund 124.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this action is to transfer $325,000 within fund 124 from the Human Services Pending Grants budget into Early Head Start programs 197 and 198 follows:
$150,000 for Program 197 Administration;
$175,000 for Program Operations 198;
The Office of Head Start Region X provides funding for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from low-income families; supports pregnant women and families children younger than age 3 years. Increases in 2024 grant funding has resulted in a need for Salaries and benefits, for staff who have been working more in Early Head Start beyond what was anticipated in the approved 2024 budget. This transfer will enable necessary services to continue through the end of 2024.
This budget transfer is covered with existing grant funding.
