EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:
PURPOSE: Refer a proposed ordinance, which would amend the comprehensive plan, zoning map, and development regulations for mineral resource lands, to the planning commission for review, consideration, and a recommendation back to the council.
BACKGROUND:
• The motion requests that a public hearing be held before the planning commission and a recommendation be provided back to the council along with the 2021 comprehensive plan amendment package.
• The proposed code amendments would provide a smoother transition from active mining to post-extractive uses.
