PURPOSE: Motion to appoint Mickey Alderman to the Developmental Disabilities Citizen Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: The Developmental Disabilities Citizen Advisory Board is comprised of citizens who serve in an advisory capacity to the Developmental Disability staff of the Snohomish County Human Services Department. The Board meets monthly, and is comprised of up to 15 members, drawing from all areas of the county and a range of backgrounds, including family members, individuals with developmental disabilities, professionals, and advocates.
• Mickey Alderman resides in Council District 2
• Mickey Alderman is a parent and caregiver to three individuals with developmental disabilities
• Mickey Alderman has a Bachelor’s in Leisure Services and Outdoor Recreation and is working on a Bachelor’s in Special Education
• Mickey Alderman has worked in childcare, schools, and care providing for more than 20 years
• Mickey Alderman is not a member of any other County board or commission
• Mickey Alderman is recommended for a three-year term upon her appointment
