PURPOSE: This ordinance would allow warehouse as a permitted use in Planning Community Business zoning but only in the Maltby UGA and subject to the bulk regulations for General Commercial zoning. The ordinance would be included with other ordinances making up the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update project.

 

BACKGROUND: This ordinance is based on public comments received on June 4, 2024. It would help maintain compatibility between uses on PCB-zoned property and adjacent industrially zoned sites. It would also help minimize how much the Maltby UGA is going to overshoot its housing unit growth target (pending housing permits in Maltby already exceed the Executive-recommended target).
