PURPOSE: To approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue Regional Fire Authority, Snohomish County on behalf of its Sheriff’s Office, and Snohomish County 911 relating to a Joint Drone First Responder Proof of Concept operation.
BACKGROUND South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue, Snohomish County 911, and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are working together to run a drone as a first responder pilot program during the months of September and October of this year. The program involves four drone docks that are currently installed on property controlled by Snohomish County 911. This agreement will allow the docks to be moved to South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue Property to improve response time and locate the drones further away from restricted airspace.
