PURPOSE: To recommend the appointment of Mark Johnson to the Snohomish County Council on Aging.

 

BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Council on Aging (COA) exists to advise, assist, and advocate for older persons and those adults with disabilities in Snohomish County by keeping the County Executive and other elected officials apprised of the concerns and needs of the older population.  Additionally, COA assists and helps guide the work of the Aging and Disability Services Division in fulfilling its stated missions, supports ongoing evaluation of program services, and engages in policy to implement the Snohomish County Area Plan on Aging. 

Mark Johnson has worked for many years in hospice care, the American Diabetes Association, and Volunteers of America. 

Mr. Johnson does not serve on any other county boards or commissions.
