EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Lacey Harper 7/26/23
PURPOSE: Appoint Valera Storey to the Snohomish County Agricultural Advisory Board to represent the vacant position of direct marketing advocate.
BACKGROUND: Executive Dave Somers recommends the appointment of Valera Storey to the Agricultural Advisory Board. SCC 2.06 establishes the board to advise the County Executive, County Council, Hearing Examiner, the Department of Planning and Development Services, and the Department of Finance. Of the eleven members on the Board, one person shall be engaged in each of the following industries: dairy, nursery, livestock, commodity crops, equine, and agricultural direct marketing, and one shall represent diking, drainage and flood control districts located in the Stillaguamish River basin, one representative is nominated by the Snohomish County Farm Bureau, and one person resides in each the Stillaguamish and Snohomish River Basins. The terms of board members is four years.
