ITEM TITLE:

Title

Ordinance 26-036, relating to Growth Management; concerning Lot Splitting; amending Section 30.41a.235, Chapter 30.41b, Section 30.70.025, and Chapter 30.91s of the Snohomish County Code

body

DEPARTMENT:  Planning and Development Services

ORIGINATOR:  Michael Saponaro

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Mike McCrary 8/5/26

PURPOSE: To pass an ordinance to update chapter 30.41B SCC to include lot splitting as an administrative process.

BACKGROUND: This is a proposed code amendment concerning lot splitting regulations in chapter 30.41B SCC following review by County staff, the Master Builders Association, Snohomish County Public Works, and intermittent public input. The amendments propose to streamline Snohomish County’s lot splitting process, whereby residential lots are split within a single residential parcel into two separate, buildable lots, assuming development standards are met.
