PURPOSE: Enter into a contract with MDB Insights to develop a county-wide workforce development strategy to support economic recovery and resiliency building.
BACKGROUND: The County desires a strategic workforce development action plan for Snohomish County that supports long-term, resilient, and broad-based economic growth; provides educational, training and career pathways to residents and workers; and develops and establishes an agile workforce development system that can respond to short-term and adapt to long-term change. The contract with MDB Insights for the development of a workforce strategic plan will allow Snohomish County to develop a strong and nimble economic and workforce development system that establishes Snohomish County as the "gold standard" for workforce development. The workforce strategic plan that will support strategy implementation over five years and will establish outcome and output metrics to determine if the strategies are meeting their intended goals. The total contract award for the strategy is $120,000.00. A grant from the Economic Development Administration will fund $96,000.00 of the strategy. A required match for the grant of $24,000.00 will be provided by the Department of Human Services.
