PURPOSE: To consider adopting the 2025 Audit Plan
BACKGROUND: SCC 2.700.30 provides that the Performance Auditor shall annually prepare, in consultation with the Performance Audit Committee (PAC), a Performance Audit Plan (Plan), which is a list summarizing potential audit topics, for the upcoming year. Following the Plan’s adoption, Council determines which topic or topics in that Plan will be analyzed through a performance audit. The Performance Auditor, in consultation with the PAC and with input from Snohomish County elected officials has prepared a 2025 Performance Audit Plan and Audit Approach Memorandum. The Memorandum includes a proposed 2025 Audit plan, audit approach summaries and recommendations regarding the audit topics for 2025. The proposed motion adopts the 2025 Audit Plan. Should the Council wish to conduct an audit recommended in this plan, Council would request the completion of a Notice to Proceed on an audit and then consider the Notice to Proceed motion. Work would commence following adoption of the Notice to Proceed.
