ITEM TITLE:

Title

Ordinance 26-019, adding a New Section to Chapter 2.400 Snohomish County Code, SCC 2.400.066 County Funding for Housing

body

DEPARTMENT:  Council / CM Nehring

ORIGINATOR:  Nicole Gorle

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  n/a

PURPOSE: Amend Snohomish County Code

BACKGROUND: This ordinance would prohibit solicitations, scoring metrics, agreements or contracts providing funding to entities for housing from 1) requiring/incentivizing/or giving priority to entities who provide temporary or permanent housing without any or with minimal entry or participation requirements and 2) would not allow disqualifying, discouraging, or giving lower priority to entities who have requirements for sobriety, treatment, or counseling. There is an exception provided that if the county would stand to lose federal or state grant dollars because of complying with this provision that it would not apply.
