body

DEPARTMENT:  Conservation and Natural Resources

ORIGINATOR:  Kent Barbeau

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Lacey Harper 5/21/24

PURPOSE: Amend ordinance SCC 25.20.120 Delinquent Service Charges to allow a motion for cancellation of uncollectible surface water service charges to be brought to Council at any time during the course of lawful collections actions.

BACKGROUND: SCC 25.20.120 empowers the director to submit a list of uncollectible delinquencies to council for action to cancel said uncollectible surface water service charges. Currently SCC 25.20.120(6) only allows this request to be brought forward on or before the first day of February of each year. The county has need to act on cancellation of delinquencies outside the current timeframe allowed by code.
