PURPOSE: Provide a status update to Council regarding feasibility study findings.
BACKGROUND: Facilities and Fleet was tasked with performing a feasibility study for the possible location of a Secure Withdrawal Management facility within the County. The process for generating the feasibility report started by identifying potential sites within existing county-owned property inventory. The project team, including Executive, K-M-D, Human Services, Facilities, Sheriff, and Superior Court weighed in on possible locations for a SWIM program. Consideration was given to access for existing County resources and public transportation, likelihood of neighborhood acceptance, and expected site development costs. Locations where narrowed to two possible sites and feasibility concepts were explored for those sites. This update will provide the feasibility findings and conceptual design for further consideration.
