PURPOSE: Derelict Vessel Removal
BACKGROUND: The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) has need for contracted means to remove derelict vessels, ranging in size and risk during removal. To date, DCNR has successfully removed 29 vessels over seven (7) years. The Office of Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES) issued a Request for Proposals 16122 for Vessel Removal, Disposal, or Salvage Services for Derelict Vessels on 1/19/2023.The RFP contained 5 categories for vessel removal of various sizes and risk factors. The RFP was awarded to all nine contractors who submitted proposals. All contracts expire 3/31/2026, with an ultimate ending date of 3/31/2029.
