EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approve - Ken Klein 11/19/21
PURPOSE: To obtain the Council’s approval of the 1st amendment to a contract for legal services with Keating, Bucklin & McCormack regarding the Dold matter.
BACKGROUND: The County entered into a contract with Keating, Bucklin & McCormack on April 7, 2020, to defend the County in the matter of Jennifer Dold, Personal Representative of the Estate of Alexander Dold; and Kathy Duncan, mother of Alexander Dold v. Snohomish County (the Dold matter). Per the initial contract, fees and expenses would not exceed $50,000. The 1st amendment modifies the limit of fees and expenses to not exceed $150,000, as the defense of this matter continues into 2022.
