EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Ken Klein 4/10/23
PURPOSE: Approval of a lease renewal in Mill Creek for South Precinct and authorization for the Director of Facilities and Fleet to sign the lease on behalf of the County as lessee.
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County is currently leasing office and warehouse space located at 15928 Mill Creek Boulevard in Mill Creek, Washington for the Sheriff’s Office South Precinct. The current lease is between Investors Management Company as Lessor and Snohomish County as Lessee. The current lease ends September 30, 2023. The County would like to continue leasing the premises beyond September 30, 2023 in order to accommodate the construction schedule for a new South Precinct to be located in the Bomarc Business Park at Paine Field. The new lease will allow the County to continue leasing the premises in Mill Creek with an initial one year term followed by a month to month tenancy for an additional year, ultimately ending on September 30, 2025. The lease rent will increase by 4% after the initial annual term.
