Title

Motion 25-110, related to the 2024 Budget; approving a transfer of budgeted contingency from Non-Departmental to County Offices and Departments within General Fund 002

body

DEPARTMENT:  Finance

ORIGINATOR:  Jim Woodard

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Ken Klein 2/13/25

PURPOSE: 2024 Budget Transfer to fund the current 2024 COLA

BACKGROUND: The 2024 Adopted Budget includes a Non-Departmental personnel cost contingency.  A purpose of this contingency is to help fund collective bargaining unit (CBA) agreements that are completed during the year for which COLA adjustments had not previously been decided.  The County has settled agreements with several CBAs during 2024 that established COLA increases.  The transfer is necessary to provide the needed budget authority for the 2024 COLA.
