ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 24-470, approving the Statutory Partnership between Snohomish County and the Snohomish County Farm Bureau

body

DEPARTMENT:  Department of Conservation and Natural Resources-OES

ORIGINATOR:  Eric Smith

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Lacey Harper-11/1/24

PURPOSE: This motion will approve formation of a Statutory Partnership between the County and the Snohomish County Farm Bureau for the purpose of applying to the EPA Environmental Justice Community Change Grant.

BACKGROUND: The EPA Environmental Justice Community Change Grant requires a Statutory Partnership between a government and a non-profit community-based organization. The Farm Bureau has been involved in the Food and Farming Center project throughout it’s development and would make an ideal partner in pursuing this grant. The funds from the grant would go toward construction of the Food and Farming Center at McCullum Park.
