Motion 24-268, approving an increase in the number of employees authorized in the 2024 Annual Budget in Fund 193 for the Department of Planning and Development Services

PURPOSE: To approve the addition of five (5.0) FTEs to the 2024 Planning and Development Services Fund 193 budget.
BACKGROUND: PDS needs to add five new staff positions in 2024 to meet state-mandated permit review time frames set forth in state law and to provide acceptable levels of customer service. The positions are as follows: Fire Inspector Senior, Plans Examiner, Inspector Building, Biologist, and Inspector Site. (Note: PDS’s 2024 budgeted expenditure authority is sufficient to cover the costs of these added positions, so no additional expenditure authority is needed.)
