PURPOSE: Executive approval of grant award for 2024-2025 WA Dept of Commerce Multijurisdictional Task Force
BACKGROUND: *The purpose of the WA Dept of Commerce Multijurisdictional Task Force Grant formally known as (Byrne Jag Grant) is to reduce the availability, use and trafficking of illegal drugs, guns, and the profit of criminal gang and drug organizations. * To continue the support of the Snohomish Regional Gang Drug Task Force, WA Dept of Commerce has awarded the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office $150,000.00 for State Fiscal Year 2025 (July 1, 2024-June 30,2025). *This grant program will fund approximately 40% of the salary and benefits of the Task Force Commander. *Any matching funds will be provided by the County, cooperating cities, and the Task Force Forfeiture fund. *At this time the Sheriff is requesting approval of the 2024-2025 WA Dept of Commerce Multijurisdictional Task Force grant award totaling $150,000.00
