PURPOSE: Transmit the CAR Monitoring Report the Council
BACKGROUND: SCC 30.62A.730 requires the county to monitor implementation and effectiveness of the critical area regulations as adopted to protect the functions and values of ecological systems. Monitoring requirements are in place to help determine if additional programmatic measures are needed to provide the necessary protection.

OTHER DEPARTMENTAL REVIEW/COMMENTS: This monitoring report is transmitted to the County Council for review as required by SCC 30.62A.730; no further action by Council is required. The report will be used by county staff to assess both regulatory and nonregulatory programs, and identify possible measures the county could employ to improve environmental protection. The analysis and conclusions in the report may also be used to identify and support future grant funding opportunities.
