PURPOSE: Snohomish County, acting through its Health Department, has a need for a highly qualified Tuberculosis (TB) Medical Officer who will assist the Health Officer to provide evaluation and coordination of care for patients with suspected, active, and latent tuberculosis disease.
BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Health Department has the sole responsibility to ensure tuberculosis disease in our communities are investigated and that residents have received treatment. Christopher Spitters, MD, MPH, is currently serving as the TB Medical Officer and assisting in evaluation of individuals for potential active or latent tuberculosis infection, with a special emphasis on immigrant and refugee populations. He will work with the TB Program Manager and TB Control Program to review clinical information, conduct diagnoses, prescribe treatment plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. The Health Department would like to continue this partnership.
