PURPOSE: Approve a Motion for the County Executive to sign a Quit Claim Deed prepared by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to transfer right-of-way (ROW) from Snohomish County (the County) to the State of Washington (the State.)
BACKGROUND: In 1991 the Tulalip Tribes of Washington was appropriated funding for the 88th St NE Interchange on I-5 Project. In June 1993, WSDOT entered into an agreement under GC 9584 with the Tulalip Tribes, and in September 1993, the Tulalip Tribes entered an interlocal agreement with Snohomish County, which is recorded under Auditor’s File Number 9309220594. The terms set forth in the Interlocal Agreement require the County to acquire property in the name of WSDOT, however the property was instead acquired in the name of the County. This motion approves a Quit Claim Deed to the State and authorizes signature by the Executive. See Engineer’s Report Facts, Backgrounds and Findings.
