PURPOSE: Grant Application
BACKGROUND: The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is seeking applications for funding from applicants invited to apply. With this solicitation, BJA seeks to support projects designated for funding in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (Public Law 118-42) to improve the functioning of the criminal justice system, to prevent or combat juvenile delinquency, and to assist victims of crime (other than compensation). The Sheriff’s Office would like to apply for this funding to be utilized for procuring a Rapid DNA System and supplies related to the system.

DEPARTMENT FISCAL IMPACT NOTES: No current fiscal impacts as we are requesting approval to apply for a grant in the amount of $448,000 for 2025. If awarded, a 2025 budget amendment ECAF will be submitted separately from the grant award ECAF.
