DEPARTMENT:  Executive

ORIGINATOR:  Sarah Strozyk

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Kent Pattton 4/13/26

PURPOSE: To fill a vacancy on the Snohomish County Tourism Promotion Area Board - District 4 - Non-Lodging

BACKGROUND: The Tourism Promotion Area (TPA) Advisory Board was created to review applications to the TPA grant fund and make use of lodging charges collected under Chapter 4.118 SCC. The purpose of the TPA is to increase overnight stays in Snohomish County. The Advisory Board is comprised of 14 members: nine (9) lodging members, one from each of the five County Council districts and four at-large members; and five (5) non-lodging members, one from each of the five County Council districts. Members of the Advisory Board may serve up to three consecutive, three-year terms. One new applicant seeks to serve terms on the 14-member TPA Advisory Board. The TPA Advisory Board has reviewed and approved the application for membership of Ryan Bush (District 4, Non-Lodging) and recommend this applicant to Council for terms ending December 31, 2028. The Tourism Department is continuing to solicit applicants for the remaining vacancies.
