PURPOSE: Appoint Aamena Ellithy to the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission to represent the District 4 Seat.
BACKGROUND: Executive Dave Somers recommends the appointment of Aamena Ellithy to the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission (SCHRC) to serve as the representative of the District 4 position. Per SCC 2.460.020, the SCHRC is comprised of nine members. Of the nine members on the Commission, one represents the County Executive, one shall represent the law enforcement community after consultation with the County Sheriff, and the other seven shall represent the five County Council Districts following consultation with each County Councilmember, and there are two at-large members. This will be Aamena’s first term of appointment.
