PURPOSE: Obtain approval of Amendment for contract for Legal Services for Other Airport Areas - Environmental, increase in compensation
BACKGROUND:
? Long term tenants of the Snohomish County Airport and other outside entities may have caused or contributed to hazardous waste, substances, pollutants and contaminants on various locations of Airport property.
? By previous motions (21-193, 23-088) Snohomish County has entered into a legal professional service agreement with Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, P.S. ("HCMP") for consultation and legal advice regarding various areas at the Snohomish County Airport.
? An Amendment to the contract is necessary for additional compensation as follows: increase of $75,000, not to exceed a total contract amount of $200,000.
? Continuing advice from the same attorneys at the HCMP firm is critical to potential legal action, remedies and damages is necessitated by such tenancy and environmental issues.
