PURPOSE: Piggyback Award for Security Services
BACKGROUND: The County has need for unarmed security services. Council approved Motion 24-232 authorized the use of a “piggyback” or “cooperative purchase” under SCC 3.04.220 utilizing a competitive bid issued and awarded by the Office of Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES). DES issued competitive solicitation RFP 00624 for Security Guard Services on August 8, 2024 and awarded contracts that include Level 1 Unarmed Security Guards as well as add-on Supervisors or Vehicles in Snohomish County that meet the requirements and needs for the County in accordance with Snohomish County Code section 3.04.120 and Section 3.04.140(5). Estimated annual cost is anticipated to be $500,000, with a proposed piggyback term of four (4) years.
