PURPOSE: Bid Award Recommendation Bid PW-23-019SB
BACKGROUND: A competitive Invitation to Bid was issued on behalf of Surface Water Management for improvements to aquatic and riparian habitat at the confluence of Jim and Vos Creeks. The work includes: Installation of 3 Large Deflector ELJs and 5 Small Deflector ELJs within Jim Creek to create hydraulic complexity by redirecting flow, providing high and low velocity zones, and forcing the channel thalweg to meander and create a more sinuous flow path; Targeted excavation to remove the 6-8-inch culvert from Wetland A and to reengage the existing riparian and wetland areas of Jim Creek’s right bank floodplain; Restoration of riparian forest vegetation along Jim Creek and Vos Creek, and other work.
