PURPOSE: Authorizing the County Executive to Sign Amendment No. 1 to the January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement between Snohomish County and the Washington State Council of County and City Employees, AFSCME, AFL-CIO - Marshal Addendum.

 

BACKGROUND: Snohomish County and the Washington State Council of County and City Employees, AFSCME, AFL-CIO are parties to a four-year agreement effective January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027.  This agreement includes 21 separate Addenda, one of which is the Marshal Addendum with covers Marshals and Lead Marshals working the Sheriff’s Office.  This amendment would put in place a recruitment incentive currently applicable to all other bargaining units in the Sheriff’s Office and create a temporary referral incentive for current employees who successfully refer applicants for a set number of Deputy Sheriff and Corrections Deputy positions.
