PURPOSE: MODIFICATION OF THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE EXEMPT EMPLOYEES SALARY SCHEDULE
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County code 3.68.050 requires that the Human Resources Director establish the salary ranges for exempt employees of the Sheriff’s Office covered by the Sheriff’s Office Exempt Compensation Plan. In the past, compensation increases for Major, Bureau Chief, and Undersheriff have been determined based on maintaining ratios to the subordinate employees covered by the Sheriff’s Office Management Team (SOMT) labor agreement. However, as the SOMT labor agreement has not been settled yet this year, an alternative approach is necessary. It is recommended that the Major, Bureau Chief, and Undersheriff receive a 3.63% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), aligned with increases provided to our other non-represented staff. The attached salary establishes a new schedule for April 1, 2025, attached as Exhibits A.
