PURPOSE: Provide Everett Public Schools with one full time deputy sheriff for school resource officer services
BACKGROUND: The County, through the Sheriff’s Office, currently provides School Resource Officer (SRO) services to the Everett School District, Sultan School District, Mukilteo School District, and Snohomish School District by way of interlocal agreements. Everett Public Schools wishes to renew their ILA with the County to provide an SRO at Gateway Middle School. The Sheriff’s Office has provided an SRO at Gateway Middle School since 2018. The cost will be shared by the school District (75%) and the County (25%) because the assigned deputy sheriff is reassigned to other duties in the Sheriff’s Office during the summer months when school is not in session.
