PURPOSE: Briefing County Council on the proposed amendments to the Parks and Recreation Element in the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update
BACKGROUND: Parks and Recreation Division’s planning team have worked with an interdepartmental team of long range planners from across the county to update the GMA Comprehensive Plan to ensure planning for Parks considers population, employment and housing growth for the next 20 years. The amended Parks and Recreation Element (PRE) is included in ECAF 2024-0417 (Ordinance No. 24-033). Parks staff will brief the Council on what is included in the updated PRE, which was recommended for adoption by Planning Commission on November 15, 2023.
