ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 23-252, approving the Conservation Futures Property Tax Funds Return to Fund Balance

body

DEPARTMENT:  DCNR

ORIGINATOR:  Kye Iris

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Lacey Harper 6/13/23

PURPOSE: To return unexpended funds from approved projects that were completed or no longer viable.

BACKGROUND: Conservation Futures funding was allocated to seven projects, which were completed for less funding than was allocated, determined to no longer be viable or for which additional return dollars were identified.  Of these projects, two Laz acquisitions were combined, which resulted in a cost savings. The City of Lynnwood was successful in obtaining matching funds from RCO Water Access for the Sprague’s Pond project, which reduced costs.  The Albert Farm and Brekhus Riverfront projects are no longer viable and funds are being returned to fund balance and the remaining projects closed with excess funds, which are being returned to fund balance.
